This course builds on the previous course LiDAR data processing and assumes basic familiarity with R, and elementary knowledge of working with common GIS software (e.g. QGIS, ArcGIS) and with point clouds (e.g. LAStools). If you are not familiar with LiDAR data processing, you should first complete the previous course.
In this course, we will first learn how to work with point clouds using R (package lidR). Subsequently, we will focus on the use of airborne laser scanning data for various applications, including estimation of lava mass, quantification of fire-induced changes to forest structure, assessment of species-environment associations, or microclimate modelling.
If you are CZU student you can download data for all lessons from sharepoint.
